'This Will Be' - Natalie Cole  {RIP}

In 1975, one 7” single completely overturned my musical interests, or rather defined them strongly. Until then, I was playing everything, and then almost 100% disco music but in the style of R&B, Soul, Funky. I was known for promoting the so-called 'America' - which most of the deejays of that time did not understand, neither liked nor supported. For my musical sympathies and huge correspondence and cooperation with the disco community from the USA and UK, I was in danger of losing my life.     I received such threats from the pigs from the SB. I never knew how serious their threats were, given that many Poles died at that time at the hands of these criminals and murderers.

1975 was a different reality. I was young (23 years old) and I was quite a popular deejay in Poland.   I got into my hands a 7 ”single from the USA - someone sent me. I let go and almost fall off my chair. Jesus!! - what a miracle - what sound. I've never heard anything better. I played and played probably 90 times. I was ravished… I have played this single for years. It turned gray-white, creaked a lot. No problem - I I found a new one and played in discos all the time. I played until the end when, after more than 40 years, my health did not allow me to struggle with nights in clubs anymore.          I finished my deejay career but I have / own this 7” single still ...

Today, when I am releasing it, I am 70 years old, old images have faded a bit in my memory and She is gone - the great and wonderful Natalie Cole - no longer with us - whose alive. Another reality again. It is harder to live with this long-term memory. Sadness and melancholy get me every time I play it.

W 1975 roku jeden singiel wywrócił całkowicie moje muzyczne zainteresowania, a raczej sprecyzował je mocno. Do tego czasu grałem wszystko, a potem już prawie w 100% muzę disco ale w stylu R&B, Soul, Funky. Znany byłem z tego że propaguję tzw. ‘amerykę’ – czego większość ówczesnych deejayów nie rozumiałam nie lubiła i nie popierała. Za te moje sympatie muzyczne i ogromną korespondencję i współpracę ze środowiskiem disco z USA i UK groziła mi utrata życia. Takie groźby zbierałem od wieprzów z SB. Nigdy nie wiedziałem jak serio są te ich pogróżki zważywszy, że z ich rąk – z rąk tych zbrodniarzy i morderców zginęło wtedy sporo Polaków.

Rok 1975 to inna rzeczywistość. Jestem młody (23 lata) i jestem dość popularnym w Polsce deejayem. W ręce wpada mi 7” singiel z USA – ktoś mi przysłał. Puszczam i omal nie spadam z krzesła. Chrystuńku – jakież to cudeńko – jakie brzmienie. Nigdy nie słyszałem niczego lepszego. Puszczam i puszczam chyba z 90 razy. Jestem urzeczony … Zgrałem tego singla przez lata. Stał się szaro-biały, mocno trzeszczał. Nic to – znalazłem nowy i ciągle grałem w dyskotekach. Grałem do końca kiedy to po ponad 40 latach zdrowie nie pozwoliło mi już dłużej męczyć się nocami w klubach. Skończyłem karierę deejaya ale singla mam …

Dzisiaj kiedy to puszczam mam 70 lat, dawne obrazy zatarły się nieco w pamięci. Nie ma też już jej – wielkiej i wspaniałej Natalie Cole. Znowu inna rzeczywistość. Żyje się trudniej z tym wieloletnim bagażem w pamięci. Smutek i melancholia dopada mnie za każdym razem jak to gram.
